Comparing Services

Make sure the company you engage employs a contract specifying what limitations apply to the scope of the inspection.  Most “warranties” offer little coverage.  Check the credentials of the inspection firm and your individual inspector.  Many people without bona-fide credentials offer services.  An objective, unbiased opinion is the service you want to put the home in perspective.  You would not be purchasing a home that did not suit your style and needs.  A Home Inspector should limit their opinions to the function and condition of the systems, components, and appliances of your new home.  He/she should not be addressing issues of a cosmetic nature.
